This Week...

After our well deserved winter break we are right back on track with our learning!

This week in math we are continuing to explore different tools of measurement.  So far we have learned about measuring temperature using thermometers and measuring items using non-standard units of measurement, such as body parts.  As the week continues we will practice measuring with a standard ruler.  Students are also continuing to work on basic addition and subtraction, as well as patterns, numbers before and after, number identification, structuring, and more!

During word work this week we will be practicing reading and writing words with short vowels.

Tomorrow students will choose a topic for their next information teaching booklet.  Students will explore a variety of topics on the Pebble Go site before choosing their topic.  Over the next few days the students will have the opportunity to research their topic in the computer lab!

Our focus for reader's workshop this week is making connections.  We are focusing on sharing our connections to a story verbally and through writing.  Ask your children what connections they might have to stories they read at home!

During science we are exploring different types of liquids and discussing their properties!

Movie Night!

This Friday our PTO is hosting a movie night from 6-8 pm in the Shapiro gym.
The movie will be Minions!
